[00:00:00] Hello, welcome to your Friday raw regulation. Today, we're closing out this week by talking about rest without guilt. Breathe, settle, be here. Here's what I know to be true. You've been carrying guilt about rest for so long. You've forgotten what it feels like to just stop. To pause without the nagging voice that says you should be doing something productive.
To exhale without immediately thinking about the to-do list to rest without earning it first. But here's the truth, rest isn't a reward. It's a requirement. Your nervous system needs to rest to regulate your body needs rest to heal. Your mind needs rest to [00:01:00] process and you don't have to finish everything on your list before you're allowed to take a breath.
If no one told you this lately, you are allowed to rest right now in the middle of the chaos, even if nothing is done. Rest is not laziness. Rest is medicine. The guilt you feel about rest, that's not your intuition, that's conditioning. You are taught that productivity equals worthiness. That busy equals important.
That rest is something you earn after you've proven your value. So your nervous system learned. If I stop, I'm failing. If I rest, I'm lazy. If I'm not doing something, I don't matter. And now even when your body is screaming for rest, your mind overrides it [00:02:00] with guilt. But here's what your nervous system actually needs to heal.
Rest, not as a luxury, not as a reward, but as a non-negotiable. When you rest without guilt, you're teaching your nervous system. We're safe. We don't have to prove our work through exhaustion. We're allowed to just be. That, that's regulation.
Rest, doesn't take from your life. It gives it back. When you rest, you rise. When you pause, you recalibrate. When you stop pushing, you create space for clarity, creativity, and peace. Let's practice rest together right now. Wherever you are sitting, standing, lying down, just be here.[00:03:00]
You don't have to do anything. You don't have to fix anything. You don't have to be productive. You just have to breathe. Close your eyes if it feels safe, or soften your gaze. Breathe in for four, hold for four
out for six.
As you breathe, I want you to say this silently or loud.
I am allowed to rest, breathe.
Rest is not laziness, rest is healing.
Breathe.[00:04:00]
I don't have to earn my peace.
Breathe.
My worth is not tied to my productivity.
One more deep breath in. Hold it.
And release everything. The guilt, the pressure, the endless list of things you think you should be doing.
Just for this moment, let yourself rest.
Take this into your weekend. Give yourself permission to rest, to pause, to do nothing. You don't have to justify it. You don't [00:05:00] have to earn it. You just have to allow it. Room by room, breath by breath. Have a restful weekend and i'll see you back here Monday for Method Monday where we're stepping into the bathroom, the room of emotional release, and letting go.
