[00:00:00] Hey, love. Welcome back to the Regulated Life. This is your daily raw regulation. A five minute sacred pause to reconnect with your body, reclaim your safety, and remember who you really are. Today we are talking about permission to begin.
So take a deep breath with me. Wherever you are.
Driving, folding laundry, sitting at your desk. Just pause. Be here.
Here's what I know to be true. You don't have to wait until January 1st to start over. You don't have to wait until Monday. You don't have to wait until everything falls apart or everything falls into place. You can begin again right now, and this breath, in this moment. Beginning again, doesn't mean you failed.
It doesn't mean the [00:01:00] last attempt didn't count. It means you are alive. You're learning. You're willing to show up for yourself one more time, and if no one's told you this lately, you are allowed to change your mind. You are allowed to try something new. You are allowed to pivot, restart, recalibrate, and rise differently than you fail.
Every breath is a new beginning and you've been breathing this whole time. Your nervous system thrives on fresh starts, but here's the thing. Most of us carry so much shame about the times we started over and didn't follow through. The diets, the boundaries, the promises to ourselves that we broke. So our nervous system starts to associate [00:02:00] beginning again with failure, with disappointment, with proof that we can't be trusted.
But that's not the truth. The truth is this. Every time you began, again, you are trying. You were showing up, you were saying, I'm worth another shot, and that, that's courage. That's resilience. That's your nervous system saying, I'm not giving up on us. Here's what shifts when you practice beginning again without shame.
You stop waiting for perfect conditions. You stop needing everything to be ready. You just start messy, imperfect, but present and present? That's where healing lives. [00:03:00] Okay, let's practice this together right now. Place one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly. Feel your breath moving under your hands.
Now I want you to say this with me, out loud if you can, or silently if you're in public. I give myself permission to begin again. Breathe in, hold for three. Breathe out for five.
I give myself permission to begin. Again. Again. Breathe in hold, breathe out.
I released the shame of past attempts. I [00:04:00] honor the courage it took to try. Breathe in, hold, breathe out
Today I choose me, again, and again, and again.
One more deep breath in hold
and release everything that's been weighing you down.
Take that with you. Let it land in your body. Let it anchor in your nervous system. You don't have to do this perfectly. You just have to be willing to begin. To soften, to come home to [00:05:00] yourself. Room by room, breath by breath. I'll see you back here tomorrow.
